Becoming a Lady'Back:
The NCAA Clearinghouse

If you are planning to enroll at the University of Arkansas as a freshman and want to compete on a varsity athletic team, you must be certified by the NCAA Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse.

It is your responsibility as a prospective student-athlete to make sure the Clearinghouse has the documents it needs to certify you. These documents are:
Your completed and signed Student Release Form and fee
Your official transcript mailed directly from every high school you have attended
If necessary, a Foreign Student Application
Your ACT or SAT scores

Your high school counselor will have official forms and detailed information from the NCAA Clearinghouse. Please see them to answer questions and to get yourself registered for the Clearinghouse.

To be certified by the Clearinghouse, you must:
Graduate from high school
Earn a grade-point average of 2.00 on a 4.00 scale in a core curriculum of at least 13 academic courses which were successfully completed during grades 9 through 12. Only courses that satisfy the NCAA definition of a core course can be used to calculate your NCAA GPA.
PLEASE, see your high school counselor for specifics on what courses qualify at your school for the NCAA's core courses. PLEASE do so early in your high school career.
Earn a sum of scores of 68 on the ACT or 820 on the SAT
NOTE: Division I has an index of core GPA and ACT/SAT scores. Contact your high school counselor for the current NCAA Clearinghouse index and forms
