The NCAA Clearinghouse
If you are planning to enroll at the University of
Arkansas as a freshman and want to compete on a varsity athletic team,
you must be certified by the NCAA Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse.
It is your responsibility as a prospective
student-athlete to make sure the Clearinghouse has the documents it
needs to certify you. These documents are:
Your completed and
signed Student Release Form and fee
Your official transcript
mailed directly from every high school you have attended
If necessary, a Foreign
Your ACT or SAT scores
Your high school counselor will have official forms
and detailed information from the NCAA Clearinghouse. Please see them
to answer questions and to get yourself registered for the Clearinghouse.
To be certified by the Clearinghouse, you
Earn a grade-point
average of 2.00 on a 4.00 scale in a core curriculum of at least 13
academic courses which were successfully completed during grades 9 through
12. Only courses that satisfy the NCAA definition of a core
course can be used to calculate your NCAA GPA.
PLEASE, see your high school counselor for specifics on what courses
qualify at your school for the NCAA's core courses. PLEASE do so early
in your high school career.
Earn a sum
of scores of 68 on the ACT or 820 on the SAT
NOTE: Division I has an index of core GPA and ACT/SAT scores. Contact
