Assistant AD-Sports Medicine and Special
Julie Cain begins her 11th season with the
Lady Razorbacks. Promoted to Assistant Athletic Director in the spring
of 1999, Cain added responsibility for most of the building and renovation
projects for the Lady'Backs while still serving as the head athletic trainer.
Among her projects were the Lady Razorback museum and the construction
of a new stadium at Lady'back Field for soccer.
Most recently, Cain oversaw the construction
and completion of the 40,000 square foot Bev Lewis Center for Women's
Athletics. The Lewis Center is home to a 7,000 square foot weight room
for women, a gymnastics practice area and coaches and administrators offices.
Currently Cain is working on stadium renovations at Lady'Back Field (soccer)
and Lady'Back Yard (softball).
A 1985 graduate of the University of Illinois,
she restructured the sports medicine department, including the expansion
of the existing training room from one room into a larger multi-room facility
of her own design.
Prior to Arkansas, Cain was an assistant athletic
trainer at the University of Texas. While at Texas, Cain worked with several
world-class and Olympic athletes as well as the 1998 volleyball, 1989
track and 1991 swimming national championship teams.
