Squad Signs a Pair of Canadians
FAYETTEVILLE - The University of Arkansas swimming
and diving team signed Jamie Hyslop and Tori Kennedy to National Letters
of Intent announced head diving coach Scott Reich.
Hyslop and Kennedy give Reich six new divers
for next season as he loses three-time all-American and national runner-up
in the three-meter event Mandy Moran.
"This has been an amazing recruiting year
we have gotten real lucky. Jamie and Tori are both great kids," stated
A Canadian native, Hyslop attended Seaquam
Secondary High School and competed for the Boardworks club team.
"Jamie is one of the top age group divers
in Canada in all three events. I am really excited because she and Tori
(Kennedy) are good friends," said Reich.
Hyslop participated in summer Senior Nationals
as well as the Canadian National Championships. She was also active in
gymnastics from 1994-2000.
Kennedy is a native of Calgary, Alberta, and
attended Reynolds Secondary High School.
"Tori is a member of the Canadian Senior National
Team and solid in all three events. She is a top diver and has the best
credentials of all the newcomers," added Reich.
Kennedy took part in the Senior Nationals
and 2004 Olympic Trials including international experience at the Canada
Cup, U.S. Grand Prix and Orlando All-Stars.
As a prepster, Kennedy was also involved in
cross-country and soccer.
"Mandy doing well throughout her career has
helped us recruit in Canada and improved our ties to the area," said Reich.
